As I prepare my reelection campaign for the New York State Senate, I find it my moral obligation to extend to future generations the opportunities that helped me achieve success. ImmigrationThe United States of America was founded by immigrants. Similarly enterprising workers today play a crucial role in the economy of our city, state, and nation; in Brooklyn, their contributions help make our borough a desirable place to live, work, and raise a family. Health CareToo many senior citizens find themselves forced to choose between prescription medication and their groceries. Some resort to the agonizing solution of cutting their prescription pills in half to reduce costs. We must act now to end this inhumane treatment of our seniors. HousingAs a resident of the 20th Senate District for more than twenty years, I have become acutely aware of the housing crisis that now faces the community. This disaster has struck heavy blows to many areas of New York City, including several neighborhoods that I represent as State Senator. |
